Variety recently reported that Disney’s new streaming service will launch with several exclusive television series featuring Loki, Scarlet Witch and other major characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These series will be limited in length, likely six to eight episodes each, and will have the original film stars reprising their roles on the small screen. Marvel and Disney both declined to comment on this news and it is unclear at this stage where these series will fit into the story arc set up by “Avengers: Infinity War.” With the fate of the Avengers team up in the air until the Summer 2019 release of the next MCU installment, fans can rest assured that they’ll be able to get their Tom Hiddleston fix in a new and exciting way from the comfort of their own homes.
Disney’s new in-house streaming service is currently slated to launch in late 2019 and be priced competitively with rival Netflix. Other programs rumored to be available at the service’s launch include animated series “The Legend of the Three Caballeros,” the upcoming live-action “Dumbo” remake, and an Anna Kendrick film created specifically for the service.
