With a new year comes new upgrades to Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif. — specifically to everyone’s favorite weenie, Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The castle sustained damage from Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Celebration decorations. Improvements include a new roof and “reinforced plastic located on existing turrets.

Refurbs on the castle are slated to begin on Jan. 7 and will extend through Spring 2019, with no confirmed completion date. As a result, the castle’s Sleeping Beauty walkthrough, along with Fantasyland entrances surrounding the castle, will be closed.

To enter Fantasyland, guests will need to come from Tomorrowland or Big Thunder Trail, which should make for an interesting rope drop.

Sleeping Beauty Castle is not the only attraction closed for business in January, as the usual suspects go down for their seasonal refurbishment or retheming.

For an updated and official list, you can always check Disneyland Resort’s daily park calendar for closures.
