To confirm: I’m not a true hater, I re-watched “Hocus Pocus” this past week. As someone over the age of 14, I’m well aware that I am not the target audience for this film. Even with the appropriate suspension of disbelief, this movie is pretty much a mess.

  • Witches have no motivation other than being evil

  • Bette Middler’s contract clearly says “I get all the lines and the other two are just there”

  • Sarah Jessica Parker’s role is just “slutty, dumb witch”?

  • The little sister is simply there to get kidnapped

  • The girl (Allison???) has no defining characteristics beyond “hot, rich, likes Max’s sister”
